Argyle Football Development Programme

GCSE STUDENTS looking for new options can find the answer with an extensive Football Development Programme at Plymouth Argyle Football Club.

Our well established course provides participants with a BTEC Level 3 in Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness, a qualification that opens a pathway to higher education and a career in the sports industry.

We are looking for accomplished footballers who want to explore a professional journey that matches their talents with the ball to a passion for learning about the sporting industry.

Your BTEC course will be based at Home Park, harnessing our advanced educational facilities within the grandstand and utilising the real-life benefits that come from studying in the unique environment of a professional football club.

The football element will see participants train throughout the week and opportunities could arise for involvement in the Plymouth Argyle reserve side competing in the South-West Peninsula League, where you could be playing alongside established professionals and Academy players.

We also compete in the National League for Post-16 Football Education programmes, taking on sides from all over the country and including the likes of Chelsea, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and a whole lot more.

The success of our BTEC programme saw us reach a semi-final place against Liverpool in the National competition, while 15 of our studens from this summer earned enough UCAS points to apply for University places on specialist sporting programmes.
