Peninsula Report - Argyle 4 Ivybridge 1

ARGYLE had to play a game of patience before taking control of an absorbing Peninsula League fixture on Friday night.

A win for the Pilgrims was set to move us second in the table but Ivybridge came to Coach Road with a plan, and their manager Nicky Marker, a former defender with Argyle and Blackburn, had his side extremely well organised.

The Argyle youngsters passed the ball neatly, probed and prodded for 70 minutes until the Ivybridge resistance by a goal from Louis Rooney. The visitors visibly lost energy and Jack Calver swiftly made it 2-0.

Three points were assured when Connor McAuley added a third in the space of five hectic minutes. Josh King did manage to grab a goal for Ivybridge but Rooney made it 4-1 before the end.
