Pilgrim Punting - Bristol Rovers v Argyle

DO you remember our visits to Bristol Rovers in 2011?

Twice we went to the Memorial Stadium in that year - in January, then in December, and each time found ourselves 2-0 down. Both times, we sought out miraculous comebacks and won 3-2.

It couldn't happen again...could it?

If you think it might, you could do worse than heading to Sky Bet, where Bristol Rovers to be winning at half-time but the Pilgrims to win at full-time is 40/1. A 3-2 Argyle win, the same result as both the 2011 victories - and Argyle's victory last weekend against Stevenage - is a whopping 50/1.

Now, we know Bristol Rovers are a good side, and in excellent form - they have won six of their last eight games. However, Argyle are top of the league and have the best away record in the league - so how can you pass up a price of 11/4?

Argyle have scored 11 goals in their last six games, averaging narrowly under two goals per game. A 2-0 Argyle win is 18/1 or a 2-1 Argyle win is 12/1. The Pilgrims have conceded six in their last six, so on paper, 2-1 Argyle looks a clever bet.

Gregg Wylde has scored two in his last two - if he had his way, he would have three in three! - and is 7/2 to score anytime, or 11/1 to be the first goalscorer. For extra value, former Gashead Gary Sawyer, yet to notch this season, is 14/1 to score anytime or 40/1 to be first goalscorer.

That's worth a punt, surely?
