Fixtures 2016-17 - The Short Trips

ARGYLE'S first Devon Expressway Derby with Exeter City in the 2016-17 Sky Bet League Two season will come on Saturday, September 17, at St James’ Park...

...with the Home Park return on Saturday, February 11.

The Pilgrims will be looking to bounce back from a pair of 2-1 defeats last season to the Grecians, although Argyle did record a 2-0 in over City in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Home Park last October.

Derek Adams' side had more success against Yeovil Town last season, beating them 1-0 on Boxing Day of 2015 before a goalless draw at Huish Park in a rearranged fixture. This time round, the two teams in green and white will face each other on Saturday, October 1 at Home Park, before the second meeting at Huish Park on Saturday, January 7.

The next closest League Two team after Yeovil to Home Park is Newport County, who the Greens defeated in both their meetings in the previous campaign. The Exiles, managed by former Pilgrim Warren Feeney, will visit the Theatre of Greens on Easter Monday, April 17, whilst Argyle head across the border to play in Wales on Saturday, October 22.

Eighteen miles further away, Cheltenham Town are back in League Two after a title-winning season in the Conference National. Gary Johnson's side host Argyle on Saturday, January 21, and are Argyle's guests on Saturday, September 3.

All fixtures are subject to confirmation.
