Made in Chelsea

ARGYLE manager Derek Adams has recruited Chelsea midfielder Jordan Houghton to boost the Pilgrims' Sky Bet League 2 promotion-chasing squad.

Houghton has signed a loan deal with the Pilgrims until May 31.

The 20-year-old Londoner comes to Home Park having already had experience of the Sky Bet League and having played at the Theatre of Greens this season.

The England Under-20 international was on loan at League 1 promotion-chasing Gillingham earlier in the campaign, and represented the Gills in their 2-1 Capital One Cup victory over Argyle in August. He made 15 appearances and scored once for the Kent club, in a 5-1 thrashing of Fleetwood Town.

Jordan has been with the reigning Premier League champions since he was seven and made his debut for former Argyle trialist Adi Viveash’s youth team as an Under-15 in January 2011.

In 2013-14, he featured as defensive midfielder in Chelsea's FA Youth Cup run and scored a crucial goal in the final at Stamford Bridge against Fulham that helped the young Blues win the tournament.

He was made Under-21 captain the following season, while still a teenager, and signed a professional contract in the summer of 2013 which runs until the summer of 2017.

Jordan will wear number 18 during his stay at Home Park. Welcome, Jordan.
