Oscar Nomination

OSCAR Threlkeld has been nominated for February’s Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month Award.

Ozzie started all four of Argyle’s games in the month, during which he celebrated his 22nd birthday. He helped the Pilgrims keep three clean sheets as they went through February unbeaten.

The central midfielder, who is on loan at Home Park from Championship side Bolton Wanderers until April, is nominated for the monthly award along with striker Scott Boden, of Newport County; York City’s on-loan Middlesbrough forward Bradley Fewster; and Rod McDonald, table-toppers Northampton Town’s central defender.

Ozzie’s nomination reads: “Acting as a shield in front of the back four, the Bolton Wanderers loanee was outstanding in February, particularly in the 0-0 draw at Westcountry rivals Yeovil Town. Energetic, mobile and consistent as Plymouth conceded only one goal all month.”

The winner will be announced on Friday after deliberations from a judging panel comprising: Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon; and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
