Peninsula Report - Mousehole 3 Argyle 1

THIS was a game Argyle simply had to win in order to keep alive the faint hope of catching leaders Mousehole and there was little wrong with the performance from a very young Pilgrim outfit.

In fact, the opener for Mousehole was completely against the run of play, as the dangerous Mark Vercesi profited from a delicious Wayne Quinn free-kick to head home before half-time.

A flowing home move provided the room for Tim Nixon to double the lead early in the second half but Argyle fought back, and halved the deficit with a scrappy goal from Liam Knowles.

The closing minutes were a siege on the Mousehole goal but the leaders stood firm, adding gloss to the victory with a late third from Luke Johnson.
