NEWPORT County drew first blood in this week's contests with Argyle...

...when they beat the Pilgrims' Under-18s on Tuesday.

The Welsh side, whose seniors visit Home Park in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, won 2-1 in an EFL Youth Alliance League match at AFC Tavistock.

Kevin Hodges' Academy side went 1-0 down but leveled early in the second half through Alex Battle.

However, Newport claimed all three points with a late winner.
