Keeping It Going

PLEASED. Happy. Confident. Luke McCormick summed up the mood of the Green Army nation after Argyle stretched their unbeaten Sky Bet League Two run to 14 matches with a 2-1 win at Crewe Alexandra.

Add, though, to the mood mix, a wariness not to take for granted a divisional supremacy which sees them head the table by seven points from nearest challengers Carlisle United.

“We’re pleased,” said Luke. “We have got plenty of momentum, but it is only possibly similar to what we did last year, so we won’t get ahead of ourselves. There is long way to go.  We'll enjoy the win today but very much focus on the next one.

“Winning breeds lots of confidence. We have got a very tight, together, unit and, come the later stages of the game, that’s when it really counts. When the chips are down, everyone is fighting for each other and we have got that in abundance.

“I’ve been fortunate to have played in a lot of successful Argyle teams and I see a lot of similarities with this one to previous ones. It’s too early to call it yet but we are pleased with the progress we are making. We are going to work hard to make sure it continues.

“I'm loving my football here. I’m happy on and off the field. The supporters get behind me; get behind the lads. They are a fantastic bunch of fans,. We have brought so many people here today and it’s such a long way to come. They really do give us a lift. I’m pleased the club is moving in the right direction.

“If we get plenty of bums on seats, they keep coming, keep getting behind us, hopefully we will keep churning out the results and, like today, they will go home happy.”
