Peninsula Report - Argyle 2 Helston 2

ARGYLE were denied the chance to consolidate their lead at the top of the Premier Division by an injury-time equaliser to cap a resilient Helston display.

The Pilgrims were outstanding in the early stages, playing some terrific fluent football and deservedly went ahead through Alex Battle, but Helston kept their composure and drew level with a goal from Matt Buchan.

Argyle dusted off that disappointment to immediately restore their lead with a second from Battle and, while the flowing football was not so prominent after the break, it looked like three welcome points.

Helston had other ideas and a penetrating long throw in the dying seconds found Hugh Howlett, who swivelled and smashed in a dramatic leveller for the delighted visitors.
