Peninsula Report - Argyle 0 Tavistock 2

IT has been a tough week for Argyle’s Peninsula League hopes...

...as they suffered a second defeat in the space of four days to give the chasing pack great hope of using their games in hand to overtake the Pilgrims.

An early red card largely contributed to the defeat at St Austell and another dismissal against Tavistock made the task very difficult after Argyle went behind to a late penalty from Glyn Hobbs.

Prior to that, the Pilgrims had controlled possession for long periods of the first period but found the visitors in resilient mood, with Dan Evans imperious in the heart of Tavvy’s defence.

The contest was very even after the break and Hobbs took full advantage from the spot, and the departure of Jordan Bentley for two bookable offences was a major blow to the hosts.

Hobbs then combined with Jack Crago for the latter to slide a tidy finish under the advancing goalkeeper and seal a big win for Tavistock.
