No Time to Celebrate

DEREK Adams says that his Argyle squad are delighted following their 3-0 Devon Derby triumph against Exeter City on Saturday...

...but knows that they have very little time to celebrate.

The Greens are back in action on Tuesday night, as Leyton Orient are the visitors to Home Park, in a match that pits the team second from top in Sky Bet League Two againast the team second from bottom.

“The players are delighted,” said Derek. “But quickly, you’ve got to move on to the next game in our profession. You don’t get long to celebrate.

“The supporters will enjoy it for a lot longer.

“It was a fantastic atmosphere on Saturday. There’s been a lot of good games here in recent times and that was another enjoyable one.”

Despite Argyle and Orient at opposite ends to the table, the Argyle manager is not worried about complacency becoming an issue within his squad.

“We’ve dealt with that well throughout the season,” said Derek. “After the big games, we’ve been able to respond in the right manner.

“If you look at us, we went to Cambridge and were home to Exeter; two important games. Our players have got very good character about them. We’ve got experience in the squad and they want to go out and get the three points that will move us on.”

“I look at Orient’s team over the season and they’ve got a decent squad about them.

“It’s a difficult league and we’ll have to be at it again tomorrow night.

“I don’t really concern myself with the opposition. I need to look at what my team can do offensively and defensively to win the game. We obviously do watch them and go through clips but our main focus in on how well we can do against them.”
