Officially John

JOHN Brooks will be officiating Argyle’s Sky Bet League Two fixture at Cambridge this Saturday.

John was formerly a Premier League assistant referee, acting as linesman for the likes of Mike Dean. Since then, John has been plying his trade in the lower leagues as the man in the middle, with this being his first season as a referee in the EFL.

John’s last time officiating the Greens came in December’s Emirates FA Cup home draw with Newport, forcing a replay that Argyle would ultimately go on to win, and face Premier League Liverpool.

With 26 games to his name so far this campaign, John has dished out 122 yellow cards, as well as eight reds. One of those red cards came in Argyles game with Newport, with the visitors having Sean Rigg dismissed.
