Slew Loves You, Baby

JORDAN Slew says the Green Army are the best around.

The Argyle number 8, who along with his team-mates put in a tireless shift as the Pilgrims held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield last Sunday in the Emirstes FA Cup, was blown away by the backing of Argyle’s fans in the north-west.

More than 8,500 Argyle fans made the 587 mile round trip, and gave the lads their solid backing throughout the game. Their passion and noise-level was not only acclaimed in the wider football world, but by the Argyle players themselves.

“It was unbelievable scenes,” said Jordan. “They’ve been fantastic towards me and the rest of the team this season.

“They’re probably the best fans in England.

“It means a lot for the supporters. They come out in their numbers every weekend in the league and especially at Anfield, It was unbelievable.

“I love the love that the fans show me. The support that they’ve shown me since I have arrived here gives me that extra kick – I want to work hard for the fans and the club.”

Jordan has been impressed with the demand shown for the Liverpool replay, coming up this Wednesday. Demand for tickets has been unprecedentedly high, and Slew is understandably excited about taking on the Reds at Home Park.
“I thought it was going to be one day where everyone was queuing up but it’s not, it’s every day,” said Slew.

“That shows how good the fans are here. I knew there would be a few at Anfield but I didn’t know that there would be that many. It’s incredible.”
