Peninsular Report - Torpoint 2 Argyle 0

A MIX of young and recovering Pilgrims suffered a 2-0 loss against Torpoint on Friday night.

Ryan Taylor and Nadir Cifcti, on their way back from injuries, made their comebacks by starting for the team.

The game remained goalless until half-time, but Torpoint took the lead three minutes into the second period when Waters scored.

This goal was deemed “controversial” according to team Manager Kevin Nancekivell, who later said: "the ref declared it went over the line, though.”

Argyle were pressing hard for an equaliser, creating several good chances for themselves, but unfortunately could not pull through.

Taylor and Ciftci each played 70 minutes as their road to recovery continues.

Waters scored his second goal of the night with five minutes to go and despite working hard, Nancekivell said: “The second goal would have been vital but we did not get it.

“I am disappointed with the overall result but we worked hard.”
