Sorry Yann

YANN Songo’o has apologised unreservedly after appearing in court on driving offences.

Argyle defender Yann, 25, was sentenced on Tuesday at Plymouth Magistrates Court after previously admitting the charges of using a mobile ‘phone while driving and of speeding in the Peverell area of Plymouth earlier this year.

Two other charges against the French-born player – of driving without a valid licence and valid insurance – had earlier been discontinued.

He was fined a total of £845 and banned for six months under the totting-up procedure.

The club acknowledges that it has a responsibility to its players and the community and, accordingly, will be asking Yann to attend a Driver’s Awareness Course.

It is important to note that, contrary to reports, Yann had not missed any previous court appearance.

He had requested in the proper manner, and been granted, an adjournment on earlier occasions because he was out of the country, including on the club’s pre-season visit to the Netherlands.
