Youth Report - Northampton 1 Argyle 0

ARGYLE’S youngsters surrendered their unbeaten run in the EFL Youth Alliance Merit League 2 with this below par performance at Moulton College, Northampton.

Argyle started the match brightly creating three good chances inside the opening 15 minutes only to find the Cobblers goalkeeper in fine form.

Argyle continued to control the half, in which 'keeper Max Childs was not called upon to make a serious save, but still could not convert any of the chances they created.

They were made to pay for their inability to find the back of the net as the home side struck, seven minutes after the break, when they headed home a corner at the far post.

The young Pilgrims huffed and puffed for the rest of the second half as they failed to create any more chances.

Academy Director Kevin Hodges was not happy after the final whistle as he said: “It's frustrating as this was a game in which we should have taken all three points as we created enough chances and then gifted Northampton a poor goal.”

Argyle: Max Childs, Harry  Hodges, Ryan Law, Michael Peck (Rio Garside 75), Harry Downing, Elliott Crawford, Billy Craske, Tom Purrington, Luke Jephcott, Adam Randell (Matt Ward 60), Aaron Goulty (Klaidi Lolos 60). Substitute not used: Andrew Burn.
