Defying the Doubters

ARGYLE manager Derek Adams reiterated his happiness over the signing of striker Freddie Ladapo this summer, despite calls from some to leave him out of the side in the early stages of the season.

The forward notched his third Home Park brace of the Sky Bet League One campaign in the thrilling 3-3 against Bradford City on Saturday and his goal tally now stands at 12, with one of those coming in the Carabao Cup in the 3-2 defeat to Millwall in August, his conversion rate is at 28%.

In truth, you would be hard pushed to find a striker in a richer vein of form outside the Premier League. His goals to games ratio is something that is particularly pleasing for Derek.

“A lot of people would have had him out the team but he has done exceptionally well,” said Derek.

“He has got a goal every other game. For a striker in this league, at a team that is creating chances, he’s been brilliant. I’m delighted with his signing this season.”
