Green v Green

HOME Park will be the venue for Argyle’s meeting with Forest Green Rovers in the Central League on Tuesday and another chance for players to stake their first-team claims.

Entry to the game is open to supporters, which kicks-off at 2pm and free to season-ticket holders and 1886 members, upon production of their card.

Otherwise, prices are £4 for adults, £2 for over 65s and £1 for under 18s. Admission is by cash only and turnstiles 11 and 13 will be open for unreserved seating in Blocks 12 and 13.

“It’s fantastic for the young boys to get playing opportunities at Home Park and the Central League provides the chance to play against senior professionals from other league clubs,” said first-team coach Kevin Nancekivell.

“This competition allows us to play some players coming back from injury and also those who have been on the bench to keep up their match-sharpness in readiness for first-team action, when required.

“The Central League has been fantastic for us, especially when you talk about young pros getting minutes on the pitch, along with the Peninsula League and Premier League Cup.

“Our philosophy tomorrow will be the same as any game: go out to win. Every time a Plymouth Argyle team steps on to the pitch, the first thing is to try and win the game, and that travels down from the first-team, to the reserves and the Academy.”
