Matt Macey announce

ARGYLE have signed goalkeeper Matt Macey on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

Bath-born Matt, 23, stands at 6ft 6in and has been at the Emirates since he was 19, playing in the Europa and Carabao Cups.

His career started at Bristol Rovers, from where he was snapped by the Gunners in 2013 without featuring for the Gas first-team.

After featuring on the Arsenal bench in the Premier League in November 2014, Matt made his professional debut on loan to Sky Bet League Two Accrington Stanley later that season.

The following campaign saw him spend further time in League Two, at Luton Town, for who he played against Argyle in a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road, before being recalled to the Emirates and making his Arsenal debut in a fourth-round Carabao Cup tie against Norwich City last season.

That was quickly followed by his European debut, in a 0-0 home draw with Red Star Belgrade which helped the Gunners progress to the Europa Cup semi-finals.

Welcome to Home Park, Matt.
