ARGYLE made five changes and put the emphasis on youth for their Checkatrade Trophy Group C match against Chelsea Under-21s on Tuesday.
Welsh Under-19 international forward Luke Jephcott was handed his full Pilgrims debut, alongside fellow young striker Alex Fletcher, while goalkeeper Michael Cooper made his first senior appearance of the season.
Defender Ashley Smith-Brown was also recalled to the side after Saturday's 4-1 Sky Bet League One victory at Scunthorpe United, as was midfielder Ruben Lameiras.
The five players who made way - Matt Macey, Graham Carey, Conor and Joel Grant and Freddie Ladapo - all started on the substitutes' bench.
