Ladies Win 3-2 Twice

PLYMOUTH Argyle Ladies recorded two excellent 3-2 victories on Sunday, as the first-team and development squad both edged thrilling encounters.

It is now four wins out of five for the first-team, continuing their impressive start to life in the FA Women’s National League Southern Division.

The latest victory proved to be a very special occasion for England Under-20 international Jessica Jones, who finally received clearance to represent the Pilgrims after playing professional football in North America.

A proud day also for young debutant Faye Ivall but the goal-scoring plaudits went to Helen Bleazard, grabbing a fine brace before Zoe Cunningham popped up with a dramatic winner.

The development squad enjoyed their own epic in Weston-super-Mare, defying a long injury list to record the 3-2 triumph.

Teenager Maya Ridge was superb on the day, scoring twice and also hitting the woodwork four times. The other goal came from 16 year-old Hannah Brock.
