Taking Central Stage

ARGYLE begin their home campaign in the Central League on Tuesday, as we welcome champions Bristol Rovers to Home Park for a 2pm kick-off.

After a difficult day and defeat at Oxford in EFL Sky Bet League One on Saturday, first-team coach Kevin Nancekivell is expecting to see a positive reaction from the players.

Argyle won their opening game in the Central League, securing a 3-1 success at Cheltenham Town with goals from Scott Wootton, Ryan Taylor and Alex Fletcher.

“We played well to win at Cheltenham in our first game and we go into every game to win,” said Nance. “We’ve got tough opposition tomorrow because Bristol Rovers are defending champions in the Central League.

“We will put out a competitive team for the game and it’s an opportunity for those involved to impress. We’re coming off the back of a disappointing result at Oxford, so everybody playing tomorrow has the opportunity to put themselves in the frame for the Burton game on Saturday.

“The right attitude is extremely important tomorrow and we’ve got no doubts about their attitude. They show the right approach every single day in training and our ambition is to win the game, play good football and produce a performance that earns points in the Central League.”

Admission to the game, which kicks off at 2pm, is free to season-ticket holders and 1886 Members, upon production of their card.

Otherwise prices are £4 for adults, £2 for over 65s, and £1 for under 18s. Admission is by cash only and turnstiles 11 and 13 will be open for unreserved seating in Blocks 12 and 13.
