SWPL Preview v Exmouth H

THE Argyle fixture wagon moves back to Coach Road tonight and the visit of Exmouth Town in the Carlsberg South-West Peninsula League – kick-off 7.30pm.

The Pilgrims currently sit top of the Premier Division after fighting back to beat Saltash last Friday and it will be another very young side taking on Exmouth this evening.

“It was a really good game against Saltash and they proved to be a difficult opponent, with some experienced players in this league,” said head coach Robbie Herrera. “The boys had to show great character to recover from 2-1 down and eventually win the game 3-2.

“We had no senior professionals involved and the game arrived on the back of a very busy week of football. The fixtures will keep on coming and we have to adapt to every test, starting with a young side again tonight.

“A final word on Coach Road and I would like to say thank-you to all those working at Devon FA. They have looked after us very well and the pitch has been in good condition. It will naturally soften up in the winter months but we have to make sure that doesn’t deter from our passing game.”
