Argyle 1 Tavistock 4

ARGYLE completed their final game in the Carlsberg South-West Peninsula League with a home defeat to Tavistock, which sealed the title for our visitors.

Tavvy started very brightly in the wind at Coach Road, surging ahead with a goal from former Pilgrim Josh Grant. Argyle responded with Klaidi Lolos and Adam Randell both going close in what became an even first period.

The Pilgrims were again on the front-foot after the break but were hit by a suckerpunch when goalkeeper Harry Townsend conceded a penalty, and Grant stepped up to rifle his spot-kick into the roof of the net.

Argyle came back again to reduce the arears with a goal from Lolos, finishing off a fine team move and the Pilgrims twice came close to a leveller before Liam Prynn scored from a set-piece to settle any Tavvy nerves.

Ryan Law was dismissed after an altercation and Tavvy sealed their victory through Luke Brown. Congratulations to Tavistock and thanks to everyone in Peninsula football for their hospitality and kindness during our time in the competition.
