Argyle Youth 1 Barnet 1

ARGYLE maintained their unbeaten start to the EFL Merit League Two with this draw on Tavistock's Crowndale pitches.

The visitors started the game well but Argyle soon wrestled back the initiative with Adam Randall, Aaron Goulty and Tom Purrington all going close to opening the scoring.

Argyle continued to control the game, finishing the first half strongly with Jude Boyd sending the best chance over the bar five minutes before the break.

The second half saw Goulty twice denied before Argyle took the lead, on 51 minutes, when Klaidi Lolos collected Harry Townsend's long goal-kick to round the visiting goalkeeper and steer the ball home.

Argyle’s joy lasted but a minute as Randall was caught in possession, allowing the visitors to break away and level the score.

Even then, Argyle had a number of opportunities to regain their lead but they failed to take them, leaving Academy Director Kevin Hodges to say: “We're still unbeaten but to work so hard to get in front and then give it away was disappointing.”
