Ladies at Poole

ARGYLE Ladies go into their last pre-season game at Poole Town this weekend in a confident mood after winning their four previous games, beating a Royal Navy Representative team (9-1), Exeter City (8-3), Bishops Lydeard (8-0) and a Bristol City X1 (7-1).

Manager Dave Leonard knows that pre-season means nothing other than getting the team to gel and to work on tactics and formations.

“We look forward to our final pre-season game, it’s our last run-out for what we want to try and achieve and what we want to try and get out of pre-season,” said Leonard.

“It'll be a good work out against a Poole side who we beat two seasons ago to gain promotion, so it will be a tough away game. We go there in good spirits and finalising preparations for our first league match at Crawley next week.

“We will take more or less the same squad, we won’t change it around much, so by the time we get to our first match we will have our full team available.”

The good news is that Leah Burridge is returning from holiday, although Argyle will again be without the services of Jessica Jones. Zoe Cunningham is also in the squad after recovering from a slight injury and is also expecting a run out. There is good news for teenager Beth Everson and Ellie Bishop, who have both looked good in the previous games and will also take the trip.

Argyle: Becky Kyle, Kate Middleton, Mollie Taylor, Helen Bleazard, Ellie Bishop, Kayley Lane, Becky Dandridge, Amber Pollock, Faye Ivall, Beth Everson, Natasha Knapman, Darcey Hepworth, Leah Burridge, Ebony Dover.

Argyle’s Development team had to call off their match on Sunday at St Austell due to the team suffering a number of injuries, having players away, as well as having players called into the first-team.
