Argyle 3 Bodmin 0

ARGYLE produced a super second-half display to move back on top of the Carlsberg South-West Peninsula League with a 3-0 win over Bodmin Town.

Following a relatively sedate first period with few chances at either end, the Pilgrims burst into life with a goal immediately after the restart, when a terrific cross from the left was headed in by Alex Fletcher.

A handball in the Bodmin defence gifted Argyle a second from the penalty spot, neatly converted by Fletcher. Jude Boyd was the instigator of the next attack, feeding the ball to Lionel Ainsworth for another dangerous cross but, this time, Fletcher headed inches wide.

Bodmin threatened at the other end with a long-range drive that Michael Cooper just turned away from goal. The decisive third was scored by Ainsworth, rifling home an assist from Luke Jephcott.

Argyle continued to press toward the end but had to settle for a 3-0 victory and a solid performance.
