Argyle 5 Newquay 1

KLAIDI Lolos scored a brace and Argyle played some fine football in extending their winning run in the Carlsberg South-West Peninsula League to an impressive ten games.

The Pilgrims dominated the first half and deservedly went into half-time with goals from Lolos and Joe Seery. Newquay were the last team to inflict a defeat on Argyle in this competition and they started the second period with genuine purpose.

Argyle had to stay strong in defence and the pressure was relieved in superb fashion, as Luke Jephcott curled in a sumptuous free-kick for a killer third. Lolos then stretched the lead when his shot from distance was deflected into the net.

Lolos was involved again for number five, providing the assist for Isaac Burdon to score, although Newquay did complete the afternoon with a late consolation.

Argyle: Michael Cooper; Harry Hodges, Ryan Law, Ben Musslewhite, Andy Burn, Isaac Burdon, Joe Seery, Jude Boyd (Owen Raven 67), Klaidi Lolos, Alex Fletcher, Luke Jephcott. Substitutes (not used): Owen Price, Jimmy Miller.
