Ladies Hosting Pompey at Home Park

THERE will be a second Dockyard Derby at the Theatre of Greens this season, when women’s football returns to Home Park.

A month after the Sky Bet League One Battle of the Ports – the Pilgrims’ next home match after Tuesday’s visit of Walsall - Argyle Ladies will entertain Portsmouth Ladies in PL2.

The fixture, on Sunday, March 17, will be their first in the club stadium since last season’s successful Home Park debut, as they continue their good form in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.

Argyle are currently lying in an impressive sixth place in the league and this game will be an excellent opportunity for the Green Army to show their support towards the team.

Fans will hope for a repeat of the 3-0 win they achieved in the reverse fixture in Portsmouth, courtesy of a brace from Jessie Jones and one from Kayley Lane.

The day will also be a celebration of the two cities’ military heritage, with the Royal British legion leading out the two sides and half-time entertainment being provided by a penalty shootout between force cadets.

Kick off is at 2pm with gates opening from 12:30.
