ARGYLE midfielder David Fox says the home support in Saturday’s crucial Sky Bet League One fixture will be hugely important, as the Pilgrims go into the final day looking to avoid relegation.

The Green Army have been magnificent all season and it will be a massive boost for the players on Saturday evening, when they come out to a sell-out Home Park crowd.

“The fans are really important,” said Fox. “They are a big boost for the players when we play at home. Our results at home for a long period had been good and we need the fans.

“We need to give them something to cheer about. There is no point in everyone coming here, full of optimism and then we don’t perform, as has been the case in the last few weeks.

“We have to play well. We have to be committed, to win our tackles, our headers and give them something to shout about and get them going.

“It’s about us giving the fans something to feed off. We understand we can’t control other results. It is never easy having to rely on other people, but we will be giving everything to win this game on Saturday, because we are in a situation where it’s a one-off game.”
