Pressure Brings the Best

ON-LOAN Argyle centre back Lloyd Jones is well aware of how much is at stake when we play our final Sky Bet League One fixture of the season at home to Scunthorpe United tomorrow.

The 23 year-old Lloyd relishes the nature of big-pressure games to such an extent that he is able to play better under those conditions.

“I think pressure brings the best out in me,” he said. “I’m probably someone who plays better with pressure. When there’s something not on the game, it doesn’t mean as much sometimes.“

With so much riding on Saturday afternoon, ultimately the loser will suffer relegation to League Two, Lloyd believes, despite the fragility of our situation, every footballer wants to play in games of this significance.

He said: “Everyone grows up and dreams of playing in big occasions, big games. This is another on Saturday and hopefully it goes our way. I’ll be ready to go. There is a lot riding on it as to what league we’ll be in next year, so I can’t wait.”
