Remembrance

The usual public Remembrance Service on Plymouth Hoe will not take place this year due to the current restrictions on mass gatherings as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

As an alternative, a Remembrance Sunday service will be streamed from HMS Drake at 10.45am on Sunday 8th November

The online 45min broadcast will include all of the elements of Remembrance Sunday that people would usually see on Plymouth Hoe, albeit reduced in numbers due to social distancing etc. etc.

The ceremony will include:

The 2 minute silence at 11.00am

Wreath laying from Liberty Square from within HMS Drake by the Lord Mayor of Plymouth and senior members of the Armed Services.

The Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines will be joining the ceremony ‘virtually' from HMS Raleigh

Members of our armed forces, veterans and standard bearers and will also be on parade

The ceremony will also include a 10 min services of remembrance conducted by the Bishop of Plymouth The Right Reverend Nick McKinnel

We are delighted to be supporting this by opening the doors to Club Argyle and screening the service to guests. Entrance is free for all but prior booking is required.

We are also offering a two courst roast dinner after the service for £20 pp (£15pp for armed forces personnel and veterans)
