THE Greek striker started his football journey at Olympiakos from the age of 9.
When in the UK Klaidi attended Totteridge Academy before moving to Ashmole Academy.
Klaidi had trials at Liverpool, Norwich, and Reading before choosing to sign a two-year Academy contract with Crystal Palace until he was 16. After his release from Crystal Palace he was on trial at Birmingham City where he was scouted by Academy Director Kevin Hodges and Head of Recruitment Chris Harrison playing in an U18 friendly against Argyle. He was then invited down for a trial during the 2017-18 pre-season.
He made his debut in the Youth Alliance League where he scored against Swindon as part of a very assured performance. Following this further strong performance impressed the coaches and he earned himself an apprenticeship which he signed in September 2017.
Klaidi scored a significant goal in last season’s successful FA Youth Cup run. He also has had exposure to men’s football in Peninsula League. Klaidi was named as a substitute for the first team at the end of the season against Gillingham.
