A striker from Ponsanooth near Truro, Luke attended Penryn College and joined our player pathway initially through our Cornwall Centre of Excellence based at Brannel School in St Stephens prior to signing for the Academy as an under 14.

Luke started his playing career with the Wendron Under 9’s – 13’s and then played for Helston Under 14’s. Luke has also represented West Cornwall Schools at under thirteen and fourteen levels. He played his part in the 2014/15 Northern Ireland Milk Cup, impressively making a positive impact; scoring 5 goals in 5 matches.

Luke made his under 18s debut during the 2015-16 season against Bristol Rovers and scored his first goal against AFC Bournemouth. He was involved with the 18’s on nine occasions; scoring three goals during the successful South West Youth Alliance campaign. He also had his first experience in men’s football playing in a number of Peninsula games along with the Merit League 1 fixtures. 

Luke was invited to attend the Welsh Under 16’s training Camp during the early part of the 2015-16 season. Luke continued to make an impression using his versatility; being able to play wide or in a central position effectively. He is a creative attacking player with the ability to score goals with his right and left foot.Luke continued to be exposed to Youth Alliance/Merit League and Peninsula fixtures gaining a good balance of Youth and men’s football.

Luke was called up for the Welsh Under 19 squad in May competing in the Slovakia International Youth Cup. He had exposure to Central League fixtures last season and was offered a one-year professional contract by Derek Adams.
