NATHAN became the first player Argyle had paid a fee for in nearly five years when he became a Pilgrim.

Blissett made his way from South to West Devon, leaving Torquay in favour of Argyle, having scored 12 goals in 41 appearances for the Gulls since signings for them in January 2016. He is a 6ft 4in centre-forward who looks to use his height and power to lead the line, and has done so to good effect for United.

Blissett was in the Torquay line-up – and scored a penalty – when Argyle met the Gulls at the Launa Windows Stadium in pre-season. He is the nephew of former Watford and England striker Luther Blissett. Nathan’s eye-catching spell at Evo-Stik League Division One South side Romulus propelled him to Kidderminster Harriers in 2012. From there, he had loan spells at Cambridge United, Hednesford Town and Bristol Rovers, eventually joining the latter on a permanent basis.

He was part of the Rovers team promoted to the EFL in 2014-15, then had loan spells at Tranmere Rovers and Lincoln City before arriving in Devon.
