AFTER signing for Argyle from Oxford United in January 2017, Ryan scored on his home debut – a 3-0 win against Exeter City – and was the focal point of our promotion to League One that season.

He started his career at hometown club Rotherham United in 2005. In 2010, he moved temporarily to Exeter City and, such were his performances for the Grecians that, on returning to Rotherham, he started in the League Two play-off final at Wembley, scoring twice in a 3-2 defeat by Dagenham & Redbridge.

He signed for Championship side Bristol City in 2011 and, after a three-year stay at Ashton Gate, joined League Two Portsmouth, scoring 15 times in 55 appearances.

He signed for fellow League Two side Oxford in May 2015 before joining Argyle, for whom he made 78 appearances up until the end of the 2018-19 campaign, scoring 10 goals and setting up many more.
