GOALKEEPER Luke McCormick re-joined the Pilgrims in May 2013 following five years away from the club.

An ever reliable man between the sticks for Argyle, Luke has made nearly 350 league starts for Argyle and won 2014-15’s Player of the Season award along with a host of silverware from many supporters’ club branches.

The former Home Park trainee, who made 157 appearances for the Greens between 2003-08, first appeared for the Pilgrims in the 2003-04 season. He quickly established himself as a promising young goalkeeper and set a club record of seven consecutive clean sheets when Argyle beat Stockport 2-0 in January 2004, leading him to win the fans’ Most Promising Player award, as well as helping the Pilgrims reach the Championship.

His first spell at Home Park came to an end in 2008 but he returned to the club five years later after spells at non-league Truro City and League Two Oxford United. Luke played 28 times in the Greens’ 2013-14 campaign, with a finger injury ruling him out for a large part of the season.

He played all but 45 minutes of Argyle’s 2014-15 campaign; showed impeccable form as an ever-present during the 2015-16 campaign; and, last season, captained the team to a League One promotion, making 51 appearances.

Luke is sponsored by Laura, Richard and Joe Woodward
