ANTONI Sarcevic became Derek Adams' third signing of the 2016-17 January transfer window, signing for Argyle after his contract with Shrewsbury Town was cancelled through mutual consent only a month previously.

Antoni has proven to be an influential player with an eye for goal at previous clubs, hitting the back of the net 44 times in his career before arriving at Home Park. He rose up through the Manchester City Academy, before moving to Woodley Sports youth system in 2008, then earning a move to Crewe Alexandra in 2010. He was loaned out to Chester FC later that year.

On his return to Crewe, Antoni scored on his debut in a 6-2 defeat to Northampton, but after a handful of appearances would return to Chester, this time on a permanent basis. Chester were in the midst of a rise back up the leagues, and Antoni played his part in two successive promotions as champions, seeing the Deeside club return to the Vanarama Conference.

A summer 2013 transfer to Fleetwood Town was up next, and the promotion run continued. Antoni was part of a Fleetwood side that were promoted via the play-offs, in a campaign in which he scored 15 goals – the last a free-kick to win the Wembley clincher. In all, he made 118 appearances for the Cod Army and scored 18 goals.

After three seasons at Fleetwood, Antoni headed to Shrewsbury, playing 15 times for the Sky Bet League One club. Having fallen out of favour since new manager Paul Hurst took over, Antoni headed west, looking for a successful season with the Green Army. With 16 appearances and two goals, Antoni showed his potential, and was part of yet another League Two promotion.

In 2017-18, Sarce was again influential in Argyle's midfield, putting in some accalimed performance, but injury restricted him to just 35 games, eight as a substitute.
