HEADING into 2018-19, Argyle fans were licking their lips at the prospect of a fourth season watching Graham Carey.

The Irishman made 148 appearances in his first three Argyle season, scoring 43 goals, racking up countless assists and wowing the Green Army along the way.

Born in Blanchardstown, Graham was recruited by Celtic, aged 16, from Shelbourne’s youth system in 2005. He was loaned out to Bohemians in 2009 and helped them to retain their title. He also represented his country at Under-21 level.

Known for his attack-minded mentality and excellent quality from dead-ball situations, Graham then joined Scottish Premier League side St Mirren on loan for the end of the 2009-10 season. He left a lasting impression at the Buddies during his 17 appearances – so much so that, after a short loan at Huddersfield Town, he signed for St Mirren on a permanent basis in July 2011.

Graham had a memorable 2012-13 season with St Mirren, winning the Scottish League Cup as well as the Clydesdale Bank Goal of the Season award for a 35-yard wonder-strike against Hearts.

Graham is sponsored by Snows VW Van Centre and Karl Mander
