SCOTLAND Under-21 international midfielder Jamie Ness joined Argyle in the summer after his release by League One rivals Scunthorpe United.
Jamie began his career in the youth set-up of Rangers, after being signed by Derek Adams’ father George in 2007, before being promoted to the first-team squad in 2010, alongside fellow Pilgrim Gregg Wylde.
The 6ft 1in midfielder made a total of 16 appearances for Rangers, scoring one goal for the Glaswegian side, in the third minute of a fifth-round Scottish Cup match at home to Celtic.
Following Jamie’s five-year stay in Scotland, during which he won the SPL, he transferred to Stoke City. In two years at the Britannia Stadium, he enjoyed loan spells at Leyton Orient – making 13 appearances, and scoring on his home debut in a 4-0 win over Carlisle United – and Crewe Alexandra, making 33 appearances and scoring two goals – before his City contract came to an end.
He joined Scunthorpe United in 2015 and made 39 appearances for the Iron over two seasons. Jamie arrived at Home Park having represented Scotland nine times at Under-17 level, nine times at Under-19 level, and twice at Under-21 level.
