EXPERIENCED winger Joel Grant is entering his third season as a Pilgrim, having enjoyed a rich and storied career in the EFL.

Starting out at Watford, Jamaican international Grant made seven appearances in the Championship, before stepping down to the Conference Premier with Aldershot in search of more first-team football. A key player in the Shots’ promotion to the Football League, Grant joined League One Crewe for a reported £130,000 in the summer of 2008, which represented a club record sale for Aldershot.

Grant enjoyed three seasons at Gresty Road, before spending two seasons at Wycombe Wanderers. His next move, to Yeovil Town, would see him step back up to the Championship. He made 34 appearances for the Glovers in the second tier, scoring three times, but it was not enough to keep the Somerset club up. He was again a regular feature in their League One side, before moving on to spend two seasons at Argyle’s rivals, Exeter City.

Since joining the Pilgrims in the summer of 2017, Grant has been deployed anywhere across the forward line, including as a striker.
