JAMAICAN international winger Joel Grant turned down an offer to stay with Argyle’s Devon rivals Exeter City to join the Pilgrims in the summer of 2018.

Joel played in a variety of attacking positions in his first season at Home Park, scorign six goals in 35 appearances. 

Born in London, Joel began his career after coming through the youth set-up at Watford in 2005 and made seven appearances before a move to Aldershot Town in 2007 following a successful loan spell there the previous season.

After 44 appearances and six goals, he moved to Crewe Alexandra, where he made a total of 96 appearances and scored 16 goals before joining Wycombe Wanderers in 2011. After 71 appearances and 14 goals, he had a two year stay at Yeovil Town between 2013-15 and made 55 appearances, scoring six goals, before signing for Exeter City.

He heads to Home Park having made 46 appearances and scoring eight goals for the Pilgrims' Devon rivals.

Internationally, Joel made his debut for the senior Jamaica squad against Serbia in 2014 and played the last of his 14 internationals in May 2016 when he scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Chile in Vina del Mar.
