Cameron Sangster

Date of birth

Cameron is a left-footed midfield player from Newton Abbot, and was scouted by our former recruitment officer John James playing for his local side Chelston Football Club.

Cameron was introduced into the Academy as a nine year old. He attended Newton Abbot College before joining Ivybridge Community College for his secondary education.

He was a young member of the 2013-14 season's successful Milk Cup squad reaching the semi-finals against the Corinthians from Brazil. Cameron made his under 18s full debut during the 2014-15 season against AFC Bournemouth in the last game of the South West Youth Alliance triumph.

He was also involved on five other occasions. He scored twice coming on as a late substitute against Cheltenham Town helping the side to recover from a 4-1 deficit to gain a 4-4 draw.  Cameron also had exposure to the Merit League 1 fixtures and men’s football in the Peninsula League that season. Cameron has very good technical ability, which was demonstrated regularly during last season in the Youth Alliance/Merit League and Peninsula fixtures, giving him that balance between Youth and Men’s football.
