Following the recent appointment of Ryan Perks into the role of Argyle Ladies first-team manager, the club is delighted to welcome Mark Blackwell and Andrew Meeds onto the team’s coaching staff at Home Park.

Mark has completed a university degree in Football Development and Coaching through the club’s partnership with Plymouth Marjon University, and currently holds his UEFA B coaching licence. His most recent coaching experience is with Devon Ladies.

Andrew, meanwhile, joins the club as the new goalkeeping coach. Andy holds a Level 2 goalkeeping qualification, and over 25 years’ experience in coaching, including work as part of the Argyle Advanced Development Centre - working with all the goalkeepers across all age groups.

In addition to first-team changes, there has also been a reshuffle within the development team set-up, with Ryan Lawton and Gary Bottomley standing down, and Rhys Sullivan coming into manage the younger female players. Rhys is a highly experienced coach, currently working within the Argyle Community Trust, and has previous history with managing the Ladies’ first-team.

Perks said: “I’m delighted to have Mark, Andy and Rhys as part of the coaching staff for the Ladies’ team, and we are all really excited about the future of the football club.

“We know there will be ups and downs, but there are some excellent players at this football club and coming through the set-up, and we aim to continue to help all our players develop and be the best players they can be -  which in turn will help the football club.”

Additionally, the club has also introduced some new support staff,  with the new addition of media and communications officer, Adam Heap.

Chairman Chris Smietanka said: “Adam has experience in media and communications, specific to football, and we welcome Adam to Argyle Ladies FC.”

Watch out for further updates on the Ladies’ team in the coming weeks.
