PCH Pleased With First Goal

ARGYLE’S first competitive game of the season was a special one for Paris Cowan-Hall; in more ways than one.

The new signing made his competitive Argyle debut in the Capital One Cup victory over Portsmouth and scored his first goal for the club.

“It feels really good to have got my first goal,” he said.

“Very, very good, actually.”

Portsmouth is a place of fond memories for Paris, though; having spent most of his early football career at the club, and getting his first goal against them has certainly touched him.

He said: “Scoring your first goal at any time is good but scoring against your old club is great.

“Given the situation Portsmouth are in, though, it kind of takes away from it for me really.

“I feel like I’m kicking a dog when it’s down.

“But it’s good to score, no matter who it’s against.”

Argyle’s victory over Pompey sees them through to the second round of the Capital One Cup for only the third time in 20 years, and Paris is pleased to be a part of that.

“It’s good to have gone through; given the club hasn’t done that much recently.

“It’ll be nice to see who we get tomorrow, but as soon as that’s done, I’ll be focusing on trying to help us get three points on Saturday against Aldershot.”
