Captain Correction

A COUPLE of our reports of Saturday's game made reference to Curtis Nelson being the youngest ever Plymouth Argyle captain.

Further research and the discovery of a missing bead on the office abacus shows this to be a mistaken assertion.

Curtis was a tender 19 years and 325 days old when he led out the Pilgrims ahead of Saturday's 2-0 home victory.

However, that was still a whole 97 days older than Norman Piper, when Pipes skippered Argyle in a 1-1 draw at Cardiff on the opening day of the 1967-68 season.

We are happy to put the record straight.
