Morgan Whittaker became Argyle's record signing when joining the Pilgrims in the summer of 2023, from Swansea City.

Morgan spent the first half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Home Park, playing 31 times and scoring nine goals, as he impressed all with his powerful running and uncanny finishing ability.

Curiously, Morgan scored a hat-trick against Argyle in the Carabao Cup in August 2021. The Pilgrims travelled to the Swansea.com Stadium and were holding their own at 1-1 until Whittaker turned on the style and scored a hat-trick in the final 11 minutes of the game.

Morgan began his career at hometown club Derby County, and made 32 appearances for The Rams, the vast majority from the bench.

He signed for Swansea at the end of the 2021 January transfer window, and in early 2022, he went on loan to Lincoln City for the second half of the campaign, scoring five times in 20 games for the Imps.

Morgan enjoyed a brilliant season in the Sky Bet Championship, registering 20 goals and nine assists in all competitions. His performances earned him a place in the league's Team of the Season, and Argyle's Player of the Season award.
