Mustapha Bundu is a Sierra Leone international forward who joined Argyle on Deadline Day, August 2023.

Born in the country’s capital, Freetown, he played in the city’s Craig Bellamy Football Academy established by the former Newcastle United and Wales man. This led Bundu to England, where he studied at Hartpury College.

After playing one game for Newquay, against Ivybridge Town, as a favour to a friend, Bundu joined Hereford United, for whom he scored 26 times in a single season in the Midland League.

His remarkable rise began with a move to Danish side AGF Aarhus, for whom he played over 100 games. In 2019, he scored ten times as AGF finished third in the Danish top division, with Mustapha picking up a player of the month award along the way.

In 2020, Bundu signed for Belgian giants Anderlecht, in a deal that set AGF’s club record. He has since headed out on loan spells to Copenhagen, back to AGF and, in 2022/23, with Andorra in the Spanish Segunda Division.
