Gull-able

ANTHONY O’Connor is hoping...

...his immediate past association with another Devon team does not affect his Pilgrims’ career.

The 21-year-old Blackburn Rovers defender spent much of last season on loan at Torquay United, who unfortunately dropped out of the Football League at the end of the campaign, and was voted their young player of the season.

Anthony, who has come to Home Park until January, said: “That went really well for me, personally. I did well individually, but obviously it didn’t go so well as a team.

“I’m here, now, at Plymouth, one of their rivals. Hopefully, when I step out on to the pitch, the Plymouth fans will take to me nicely – they won’t give me a few boos. I’m glad to be here and I’m sure Torquay fans will wish me well.”
