Plymstock Development Centre
27th March 2014
WE are pleased to announce that Plymouth Argyle Academy are launching a new Long Term Player Development Centre at Plymstock School.
Asa club, we are working hard to create a vibrant network of development centres throughout Devon and Cornwall. The LTPD Centre is the foundation stage in our set-up and it is here where many young players will have their first contact with Plymouth Argyle. From here players have the chance of progressing to the Plymouth Advanced Development Centre which has close links with the Academy. The overall aim of the Plymouth Player Pathway is to create three LTPD Centres across the city. This will allow players to attend their closet LTPD Centre or develop their game on a preferred training night that does not coincide with other commitments. As well as playing festivals against each other, they will be able to test themselves against the Plymouth ADC players. Argyle’s Football in the Community department already run a LTPD Centre based at the University of St Mark & St John on a Thursday evening. This has been extremely successful, with a number of players progressing through the pathway and signing for the Academy.
We are holding an open trial night on Mondays, March 24 and 31 between 5-6pm for footballers currently in school years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 (Under-6, Under-7, Under-8, Under-9, Under-10 and Under-11). Any players that wish to attend the trial should contact Phil Stokes (Foundation Phase Lead Coach) on 01752 56561, extension 163, or at phil.stokes@pafc.co.uk.
